Armed Forces Health Professions Scholarships
Available to medical and dental students, these scholarship programs pay full tuition, fees, the cost of required textbooks and equipment, and a monthly stipend in exchange for a later active duty service obligation. College of Osteopathic Medicine University Scholarships
These donor-sponsored scholarships are awarded to students based on financial need, academic merit, and other criteria specified by the particular donors. Returning students are considered for funding through recommendations from the College of Osteopathic Medicine. Students who are awarded scholarship funds are sent a revised award letter during the academic year.
Doctors for Maine's Future Scholarship
These are awarded to incoming Maine medical students by the College of Osteopathic Medicine. There is no separate application for this scholarship and is part of the admission process, Maine residents are considered for funding through this program. Awards to the incoming class will be made in June and recipients are notified by the SWAGÊÓƵCOM Constituent Services. The is $25,000 per academic year, and is renewable dependent upon funding from the State Legislature. You must be in good academic standing in order to retain this scholarship.
Indian Health Service Scholarships
Medical students who are American Indians or Alaska natives, and who intend to serve Indian people upon completion of their medical training as a health care provider, may apply for this scholarship. Recipients receive scholarships equal to the full cost of tuition, fees, books, and equipment, as well as a monthly stipend. Legacy Grant
If one of your parents earned a degree from SWAGÊÓƵ, Westbrook College or Saint Francis College, contact our office to obtain the Legacy Grant.
Maine Osteopathic Association Scholarships
The offers $1,000 scholarships to entering and continuing students attending accredited and AOA-approved colleges of osteopathic medicine. The deadline to apply is May 1st each year. Scholarships are available only to Maine residents. Applications may be obtained from and returned to:

Mason Allen & Lawrence Newth Scholarships
Each medical student selected to participate in the OMM Fellowship Program receives a $5,000 scholarship during the year when they are not charged tuition. The student does not have to demonstrate financial need to qualify for this award.
Master of Science Award
These are awarded to M.S. students in Biological Sciences and M.S. students in Marine Sciences based on academic merit, as determined by the academic department. No repayment is required.
National Health Service Corps Scholarships
Available to students in SWAGÊÓƵ's College of Osteopathic Medicine, Physician Assistant graduate students, and Dental students, these competitive scholarships are not need-based and pay full tuition and required fees for the academic year (a single payment toward other allowable expenses and a monthly stipend). For each year of scholarship support, you owe one year of full-time professional practice (two-year service minimum) in a high-priority health professions shortage area of the U.S. (facilities are approved by the Public Health Service). Nurse Anesthesia Traineeship Grants
These with SWAGÊÓƵ clinical affiliation, regardless of financial need. There is no payback or service obligation associated with this award. Annual amounts depend upon the amount of the total federal grant, divided by the number of eligible students.
School of Pharmacy Scholarship
The School of Pharmacy considers external Pharm.D. applicants for a scholarship. Determination of eligibility is made during the admission process. This scholarship is renewable each year you are enrolled in the Doctor of Pharmacy program and remain in good academic standing.
Sibling Grant
If you and your sibling are concurrently enrolled full-time at SWAGÊÓƵ, contact our office to obtain the Sibling Grant.
Russell C. McCaughan Education Fund Scholarship
Sponsored by the , this $400 scholarship is awarded annually to one rising second-year medical student. The recipient must show financial need, outstanding academic and extracurricular capabilities, and strong motivation in osteopathic philosophy during the first year of study. The Dean of the College of Osteopathic Medicine selects the recipient and submits the application and letter of recommendation in late spring of the student's first year.
