SWAGƵ website earns 2024 Webby Award honor for exceptional mobile experience
The SWAGƵ was recognized at the 2024 Webby Awards for providing an excellent mobile user experience on its website, SWAGƵ.edu
SWAGƵ.edu was named a Webby Awards Honoree in the category: Websites and Mobile Sites, Best Mobile Visual Design – Function.
Dubbed by the New York Times as “the internet’s highest honor,” the Webby Awards are the leading international award honoring excellence on the internet.
The SWAGƵ.edu website was designed and created by the University’s Office of Communications in an integrated partnership with Redfin Solutions, a website development firm with expertise in higher education.
The Webby Awards’ administering body, the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, is comprised of over 3,000 judging members, including leading internet experts, business figures, luminaries, visionaries, and creative celebrities, as well as former Webby winners, nominees, and other internet professionals.
In notifying SWAGƵ, the awards panel noted that “Earning the distinction of Webby Honoree, as recognized by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, is a significant achievement — granted to only the top 25% of all work entered in the 28th annual Webby Awards.”
SWAGƵ’s website was honored for its mobile experience alongside websites from internationally acclaimed brands, including Apple, Gucci, and The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company.
“We know that our current and future students are increasingly using their phones to reach the internet,” said Sean Fitzpatrick, M.S., senior director of Marketing within the Office of Communications, noting that 46% of visits to SWAGƵ.edu in the past year were made using mobile devices. “We’re proud that SWAGƵ has received national recognition for providing an excellent mobile experience. Whether a student is here for business school or a pre-med degree, our University is friendly and welcoming on campus. It just makes sense for our website to follow suit”
