The SWAGƵ Art Gallery at the Ketchum Library in Biddeford is pleased to present on display from Nov. 7, 2024, to Feb. 9, 2025.

With this exhibition of work from SWAGƵ faculty in the visual arts, the unique creative climate of each studio practice is honored, said Hilary Irons, director of at SWAGƵ. Irons noted that, in this show, the creative process builds its systems and psychic environments in a different way for each artist based on research, material relationships, and narrative.

In “Studio Ecosystems,” the viewer is granted a special window into these myriad worlds, she said.

“‘Studio Ecosystems’ is impressive to me in its diversity of form,” Irons remarked. “The visual art faculty at SWAGƵ have such a broad range of expression, offering windows into many different paths that the creative process can take. I think this is admirable, especially at our University, which centers innovation as a key value.”

Artists featured in “Studio Ecosystems” include Stephen Burt, Joseph Della Valle, Sarah Gorham, Mike Libby, Alex Rheault, Lena Schmid, and Charles Thompson.

The gallery in the Jack S. Ketchum Library is located at 11 Hills Beach Road, Biddeford. An opening reception for “Studio Ecosystems” will be held in the gallery on Thursday, Nov. 7, from 4 to 6 p.m.
