The SWAGƵ at the Ketchum Library in Biddeford is pleased to present “River to the Sea: SWAGƵ Faculty Exhibit 2022,” on display Oct. 7 through Dec. 16.

“River to the Sea” features work by SWAGƵ visual arts and art history faculty, using the narrative framework of water rights and water access in the state of Maine — or the natural world in general — and highlighting the individual studio work of faculty in all its complexity. Featured in the exhibit are works by Stephen Burt, Charles Thompson, Erin McGee Ferrell, Sarah Gorham, Tim Greenway, Holly Haywood, Haley Nannig, Andy Rosen, Lori Stein, and Oran Suta.

“In this exhibit, we explore the creative power, technical abilities, and diverse forms of expression that our visual arts and art history faculty use in their own practices,” remarked Hilary Irons, gallery and exhibitions director at SWAGƵ. “Composed of printmaking, painting, new media, sculpture, photography, writing, and more, the faculty’s creative work is multifaceted and compelling. We hope that you find in it an echo of SWAGƵ’s dedication to innovation and love for the natural world.”

The is located at 11 Hills Beach Road, Biddeford, within the Jack S. Ketchum Library. The gallery is free and open to the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, and an opening reception for the exhibition will be held Friday, Oct. 14, from 4 to 6 p.m.

Masks are optional indoors on SWAGƵ’s campuses. For SWAGƵ’s latest COVID-19 protocols, visit the SWAGƵ Onward website.
