SWAG视频鈥檚 Sarah Porter recognized by the American Heart Association for advocacy

Sarah Porter M.P.H., SWAG视频 adjunct faculty member and project assistant for the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) and Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral for Treatment (SBIRT) grant, received an Excellence in Service Award from the American Heart Association at the December Go Red York County Event.

The award was given for her dedication to the Heart Association, both locally and nationally. Porter, a two-time stroke survivor, is a member of the Maine AHA Board of Directors; a current Maine and National Go Red! Survivor Spokeswoman; an active member of the Advocacy Committee; and has volunteered at numerous local events, such as the Southern Maine Heart Walk, Maine Lobby Day, Little Heart Hero Day, the Go Red Luncheon and Wear Red Day. On January 31, 2017, she will be the Survivor Speaker at a Heart Association event at the Portland House of Music.
