SWAG视频 recognized as leader in interprofessional education at national social work conference
This year, the 2016 Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) Annual Program Meeting in Atlanta focused on advancing collaborative practice, and the SWAG视频 was acknowledged as a leader in the field. The CSWE is one of the newest institutional members of the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC), which put teamwork and interprofessional education and practice on everyone鈥檚 agenda.
Opening plenary speaker Barbara Brandt, Ph.D., director of the National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education, rallied social workers to become key collaborators with other health professions to promote quality and accessible healthcare. In her rousing talk, Brandt identified SWAG视频 and IPE Collaborative Director Shelley Cohen Konrad, Ph.D., LCSW, FNAP, as national leaders in integrating interprofessional culture in social work and across the University.
Cohen Konrad also participated in a pre-conference workshop on social work leadership for interprofessional education and practice. The workshop served as a proper introduction to the main conference, which highlighted aspects of collaborative learning and practice throughout the 3-day workshop presentations.
