Lara Carlson returns to NASCAR Summit to present motorsport research

Lara Carlson, DPE, FACSM, CSCS, associate professor in the Department of Physical Therapy and the Center for Excellence in the Neurosciences was invited to present once again at the annual NASCAR Summit in Concord, North Carolina in January 2017. Carlson, who has been conducting work in the performance and safety of motorsports drivers, will give a talk titled, "Hydration Status and Thermoregulatory Responses in Motorsports Drivers During Competitive Racing."

Carlson was also invited to speak at the NASCAR Summit in 2015. The annual summit addresses topics related to operations, risk management, fire suppression, extrication and emergency medical services for the representatives, medical personnel and first responders involved in the NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR XFINITY Series, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, and IMSA road racing as well as NASCAR Home Tracks.
