The report also noted that 23,300 new dentist jobs will be created in the next seven years, illustrating the necessity to educate future experts in the field.
Through its state-of-the-art Oral Health Center, which offers hands-on experience for students and quality care for community members at affordable rates, the SWAG视频 is consistently working to provide innovative opportunities for its students. Supervised by licensed dental faculty members, students are able to build beneficial relationships with the public, helping them form strong ties within the community that could influence them to continue practicing in underserved areas upon graduation. Not only will SWAG视频 graduates be fully poised for satisfying careers, but they will also be addressing a distinct need for dentists in the State of Maine.
鈥淪WAG视频 is the only dental school in the area, which means we have both the opportunity and responsibility to provide as many hands-on experiences as possible for our students,鈥 says Jon Ryder, D.D.S., dean of SWAG视频鈥檚 College of Dental Medicine. 鈥淲e feel very fortunate to be able to foster these future leaders in the field鈥攖hey are not only learning to be dentists, but are learning how to diagnose diseases like oral cancer and heart disease.
