Amy Keirstead presents research findings at the 41st Ontario-Quebec Physical Organic Mini-Symposium
Amy Keirstead, Ph.D., assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry and Physics, gave an oral presentation at the 41st Ontario-Quebec Mini-Symposium, held November 1-3, 2013, in Montreal, Quebec.
Her presentation, titled 鈥1,1-Dimethyl-2,3,4,5-tetraphenylsilole as a Molecular Rotor Probe to Investigate the Microviscosity of Imidazolium Ionic Liquids,鈥 included contributions from SWAG视频 student co-authors Regina Scalise (Chemistry鈥13) and Peter Caradonna (Biochemistry and Medical Biology 鈥13) as well as Jerome Mullin, Ph.D., professor in the Department of Chemistry and Physics, and Henry Tracy, Ph.D., professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Southern Maine.
This work is part of Keirstead鈥檚 ongoing research program that investigates the use of ionic liquids for a variety of green chemistry and nanotechnology applications and was funded by the Maine Space Grant Consortium Education and Seed Research grant.
