SWAG视频 hosts composer Eliot Cherry Feb. 22 for performance about care-giving and love at life's end

The SWAG视频's InterProfessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) will host author and composer Eliot Cherry for a dramatic 70-minute performance about care-giving and love at life's end in "A Finished Heart."

The event is free and open to the public and will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012 at 6 p.m. on SWAG视频's Portland Campus in the Eleanor DeWolfe Ludcke Auditorium on Stevens Ave. Those interested in attending, please contact Glen Ellen Roth at groth@une.edu.

"A Finished Heart" was inspired by Cherry's conversations with his husband of 16 years who he cared for in their home during three months of illness.  His husband died in his mid-50s of pancreatic cancer.

"This special performance offers education and inspiration for students, professionals and other caregivers working with end-of-life care, death/dying, and grief support," said Shelley Cohen Konrad, director of IPEC at SWAG视频 where students in the health sciences graduate with the unique experience studying with numerous health professional programs, including medical, pharmacy, nursing, social work, physician assistant, and soon dental.

"A Finished Heart" will be performed by Cherry, accompanied by Martin Perry on the piano.  For more information on the performance and its performers, visit .
