Trustee and alum Robert Leonard featured in Boston Globe story

SWAGÊÓƵ Trustee and College of Osteopathic Medicine alumnus Robert Leonard, D.O. '86, was featured in a Jan. 6, 2011 online story. Dr. Leonard, an international leader in the development of hair restoration techniques, runs seven offices in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and New Hampshire, has performed thousands of transplant surgeries over the years and has lectured around the world. Although he doesn't name clients, the media have tried to link his practice to celebrities such as Tom Brady, the New England Patriots’ GQ-cover quarterback.

Dr. Leonard’s typical patient is a 50-year old male who’s been bothered by thinning hair for years, if not decades. But he’s also treated patients in their teens and 80s, and around 20 percent of his surgical patients are women. Even in tough economic times, he told the Globe, reacquiring a full head of hair can seem more like a necessity than a luxury to many.
