CECE Event: I’m an Educator, Too! Creating Inclusive, Accessible Healthcare Spaces
Through this Knowledge Exchange, participants will receive a comprehensive overview of the three main principles of the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework. Universal Design for Learning is typically used in classroom settings to improve access to content and the environment. This session brings UDL far beyond the walls of a classroom and into the healthcare setting. Interactions in healthcare settings are complex due to the innate diversity of the environment and the patients being served. Through stories told by people who have experienced barriers in healthcare environments and discussion with peers, participants will understand and apply UDL in healthcare settings. Join us to learn practical ways to create further inclusion in the community.
Participation can be applied toward students’ IP Honors Distinction.
