Special Operations Soldier-Athlete: Unique Sports Medicine Challenges
Dr. Brennan's lecture will include a slide presentation depicting some of the injuries and illnesses he encountered during his tour of duty in Iraq and his thoughts about his combat medicine experience.
Dr. Brennan, FAOASM, FAAFP, is a 1992 graduate of SWAG视频COM and a sports and family medicine specialist from Fairfax, Virginia.
He is the director of the Tri-Service Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship Program, Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, Bethesda, Maryland, and assistant team physician at George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia, as well as at Paul VI High School in Fairfax.
He has served as a volunteer physician at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the World Special Olympics Games, Raleigh, North Carolina and the World Championship Ironman Triathlon in Kona, Hawaii, where he was a successful finisher in 2002.
He is an assistant professor at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, and has lectured and written widely on sports medicine and family medicine topics.
